Velkommen

Welcome to the celebration of Norway as a space nation. It all started 50 years ago on

August 18th 1962 with the launch of Ferdinand 1 from ARR. Since then, Norwegian

space activities have grown large and nationwide. The social gain has been significant,

for the environment, research, technology and jobs.

We have an large and varied program planned for the celebration. It will also show the

use of space activitity in society.

A number of guests from Norway and abroad will participate in the celebration. In

particular, we are proud that even His Majesty King Harald will attend the celebration.

In addition, representatives from the government, Parliament, state agencies, regional

and local authorities, ambassadors to Norway, national and international partners and

media from home and abroad will participate.

We hope as many as possible will enjoy and benefit from participating in the celebration,

and that the event will be a celebration both for the local residents as well as visitors.
